I wonder how long it will be before someone starts looking to harvesting cookie data to build a site visitation profile. I am sure that is done today, quietly, but of course privacy advocates would have a real problem with the practice. Google is already facing some controversy here: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070716-google-cookies-to-expire-after-two-yearsas-long-as-you-dont-return.html

I'll try to confirm with someone at Nielsen//NetRatings, Niel. In the meantime, try to limit the time you spend on cutepuppies.com--people are starting to talk.

In this report, does it trace back the IP address? I'm not sure I like anyone to know how long I sat on www.cutepuppies.com. Also, does the window have to be "active" or can it be behind another screen? With the new IE, I have several "windows" open at a time with my usual surfing stuff and try to multi-task my surfing to minimize the actual amount of butt time. Hopefully that made some sense.
